Here is a map for the proposed America/Creston zone.
The area includes:
-the section of Central Kootenay A electoral area lying east of Kootenay Lake
-all of Central Kootenay B electoral area
-all of Central Kootenay C electoral area
-Creston 1 IR
-Town of Creston
-a small piece of East Kootenay electoral area C (includes the unincorporated community of Ryan).
If you zoom in and look at Google streetview it is possible to see the timezone signs along HWY 3.
If you look closely you can see that westbound sign says "Pacific Time Zone -- set your clocks back one hour". Technically in the summer, the sign should say "Mountain Standard Time"; but that would only serve to confuse the average tourist!
As I understand it, the signs are taken down and moved to the top of the Kootenay Pass on the first Sunday of November each year.
