I am not a git expert, so when i read this i would assume to start
with git clone again. If i understand correctly you would like
to resync here and continue. Maybe you can add something like:
git fetch -p
then deleting the old branch:
git checkout master
git branch -d mybranch
and now continue with * Switch to a new branch for the changes.
