My understanding is that the two time zones in use in that region are the
unofficial Xinjiang Time (UTC+6), which is represented in the database by
Asia/Urumqi, and the official Beijing Time (UTC+8), which is represented by
Asia/Shanghai.

Are you aware of other time zones observed in this region that are not
covered by one of these two rule sets?
