Video of yesterday's Maryland Senate committee hearing on a permanent
Daylight Saving Time bill (among other matters) is available at...

http://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Committees/Media/false?cmte=ehe&clip=EHE_3_5_2020_meeting_1&ys=2020rs
...with the relevant section starting at 1:36:01 and ending about 1:50:22.

Grating references by the bill author to "Daylight Savings Time," testimony
both for and again the bill, and a display by the presiding officer of a
sheaf of written testimony.
Hearing participants include a "subject matter expert." The presiding
officer mentions how a shift might have unintended consequences on events
such as Groundhog Day.

We'll see what happens.
