4.      UA @ GDD Summit
        Report back:

The Universal Acceptance session consisted of

•         a detailed update on UASG activities from Don;

• A verbal update from Dennis on the state of the work done between Verisign and GoDaddy – including some preliminary ideas on a Blueprint format

• A report on UA Activities in China by Xiadong Lee (CEO of CNNIC)

• A presentation of UA issues in India from Jitender Kumar from Afilias.

There were no questions during the presentation (which finished just as lunch was served) but there were positive comments immediately afterwards.

During other parts of the meeting there was extensive discussion about Universal Awareness and how it was linked to Universal Acceptance. In the end, however, there was no clear and coherent program identified to pursue Universal Awareness.

There were, however, several presentations with respect to Universal Awareness where new gTLD operators (and associated parties) were raising awareness of the new gTLDs generally and their own gTLDs specifically in forum OUTSIDE of the DNS Garden. There COULD be opportunities for the UASG to leverage these efforts, particularly where their audiences and our audiences overlap.
