To provide Internet in local language and break the language barrier, The National Internet exchange of India (NIXI) started Internationalised Domain Names (IDN) in 15 Indian Languages; however it could not take off because there was no email solution available in the world to provide email on IDNs. Data XGen CEO Ajay Data said, "We are excited to announce our partnership with BSNL. To empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more, the team has gone further to integrate local language email addresses across the email platforms, aiming to address linguistic barrier for the internet growth in India.""To foster Digital India mission Data XGen took this Initiative and now become first Company of India which will offer linguistic email address service in Indian languages, offering Email Address Internatilisation solution on IDNs and every corporate who is trying to address large part of India can avail this facility by visiting http://mail.bsnl.in or by sending emails on emailsales at bsnl.co.in ."He shared that "Government of India has already issued several directives in past for making all websites multi-lingual, inspite all these website have become multi-lingual still the issue was that the email address on these pages were still in English and on English domains but now all PSU, Corporates, Cooperation's and even government departments who have already reserved there domain names with the extension ., .., .. and .. can avail BSNL facility and take hosted email services on these domains and create email address of their choice for eg. @. .
