[UA-discuss] IDN growth - 9 million IDNs

Hi all,

 

The main users of IDN will be from Global South countries. The cost of owning a gTLD is really prohibitive for these countries. That could be one reason for the low  growth of IDNs, apart from the technical hindrances. 

 

Actually, technically there is no hindrance, but it is the mindset. Many people are still not familiar with inputting in scripts other than English (applicable to India).
