<p class="MsoNormal">Thank you for all you’ve done for our community, both as General Secretary / grown-up in the room, and also as a friend. I’ll miss our time together, whether complaining about bureaucracy, chatting about kids and books and hats and life,
or occasionally using our spare time to take food tours in whatever city we found ourselves. I wish we had done more of that.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">It’s already been said elsewhere, but I will say it again – this community would not have existed without you. We would probably have drifted apart and given up after Year 1. It was your drive and focus that kept a community of volunteers
moving forward on something that seemed important, rather than just poking away at a list of random work items that we could easily have put off in favor of our day jobs.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-NZ">A short note to say that after more than four years of active and direct involvement with the Universal Acceptance Steering Group I am stepping down as the Secretary General at the end of the month.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-NZ"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-NZ">I have been keen to do this for quite some time and the group now has a very detailed (nearly 100) set of actions for the next year and the newly elected leadership are well established.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-NZ"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-NZ">The administration of the program will be supported going forward by ICANN’s Sarmad Hussain who has been closely involved since the ICANN Board included Universal Acceptance as one of its five strategic objectives last
year.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-NZ"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-NZ">So many people who have been along for the ride for so long to thank.
