Dear All,
It would be very useful if LACRALO’s Regional Leadership election schedule
could be synchronized with that of the other RALOs and the ALAC.
There are two alternatives:
a. The first option is to hold the elections in May with full synchronization
achieved at ICANN 60
The elected leaders would then take their positions immediately after the close
of the 2017 Annual General Meeting (ICANN 60). This would mean that the
current LACRALO Chair and Secretariat would stay in their positions through
ICANN 60. This would allow for a transition period if new leaders are elected.
Both current and incoming leaders are provided with travel support for the
Annual General Meeting.
b. The second option is to hold the elections in May with full synchronization
achieved ICANN 63
The elected LACRALO leaders will take their positions immediately in June 2017.
The newly elected leaders would take their seats the 1st of June 2017 with a
term ending at the 2018 Annual General Meeting at ICANN 63. Their travel
support would start in June for ICANN 59. This is an intermediate solution
where the full synchronization occurs in ICANN 63.
Concerning the proposed alternatives, the following question will be asked:
QUESTION: What do you believe is the best option for LACRALO?
a. The first option is to hold the elections in May with full synchronization
achieved at ICANN 60
b. The second option is to hold the elections in May with full synchronization
achieved ICANN 63
For the purposes of Article 12.2 of the RoP, the affirmative vote shall mean
the selected alternative.
The voting process will begin on 28 March 2017, 20:59 UTC and it will close on
3 April 2017, 23:59.
The voting process shall be governed by rules 12, 19 and 20 of LACRALO's RoP.

Sería muy útil que el programa de Liderazgo Regional de LACRALO pudiera
sincronizarse con el de las otras RALOs y el ALAC.
Hay dos alternativas:
a. La primera opción es celebrar las elecciones en mayo con la sincronización
completa lograda en ICANN 60.
Los líderes elegidos tomarían sus posiciones inmediatamente después del cierre
de la Asamblea General Anual de 2017 (ICANN 60). Esto significaría que el
actual Presidente y la Secretaría de LACRALO permanecerían en sus cargos hasta
ICANN 60. Esto permitiría un período de transición si se eligen nuevos líderes.
Tanto los líderes actuales como los recién llegados reciben apoyo para viajar a
la Asamblea General Anual.
b. La segunda opción es celebrar las elecciones en mayo con plena
sincronización lograda en ICANN 63.
Los líderes electos de LACRALO tomarán sus posiciones inmediatamente en junio
de 2017. Los líderes recién elegidos tomarían sus cargos el 1 de junio de 2017
con un plazo de duración que terminaría en la Reunión General Anual del 2018 en
ICANN 63. Su apoyo para viajes comenzaría en junio para ICANN 59 Esta es una
solución intermedia donde la sincronización completa ocurre en ICANN 63.
Con respecto a las alternativas propuestas, se formulará la siguiente pregunta:
PREGUNTAS: ¿Cuál crees que es la mejor opción para LACRALO?
a. La primera opción es celebrar las elecciones en mayo con la sincronización
completa lograda en ICANN 60.
b. La segunda opción es celebrar las elecciones en mayo con plena
sincronización lograda en ICANN 63.
Para los efectos del artículo 12.2 de las RoP, se entenderá por voto afirmativo
la alternativa seleccionada.
El proceso de votación comenzará el 28 de marzo de 2017 a las 20:59 y se
cerrará el 3 de abril de 2017, a las 23:59.
El proceso de votación se regirá por las reglas 12, 19 y 20 de la RoP de
LACRALO.
