A lot of the Board's 1B's contain only a note that there is a connection 
with SMM.

That seems repetitive.

So as far as using this to identify where other work is required, 
perhaps it would be more
helpful to have a version that scores areas other than the SMM as 
1A/green if
the only objection to it is the SMM (while obviously the the SMM itself 
gets a red/2 score).

Or at least a green mark in the corner? :-)

Naturally, this would only be for the purposes of directing further work 
on refinement,
not for the purposes of review: if we dropped SMM, for example, *we* 
might no longer agree
with some areas that we had previously marked as green; at least our 
continuing support would
have to be reviewed.
