Holly,

Agreed on back and forth - we understand that you will need to dig in with long rough draft just sent and in order to move this week and at this pace - we would not have time to turn comments before Wednesday Morning.

For lawyers coordinating sessions - From ICANN - it will only be internal legal team staff - 6 different lawyers on my staff, and our EA - all of the team members will not be present for the entire discussion, but may attend some parts and a few all.

So for your front desk list
Peg Rettino - EA
Erika Randall - Sr Counsel
Shawn White AGC
Samantha Eisner AGC
Amy Stathos DGC
Daniel Halloran DGC
John Jeffrey

Can you clarify who will be attending from Sidley team and Adler teams - you estimated 5-6 and Adler estimated 3-4.

We also understand there will be two observers in the room - Becky Burr and Chris Disspain, and that although lawyers by trade and/or education - they are not practicing for purposes of this meeting.

We are proposing that the daily call with the Bylaws Coordination Group be set at 5.30 pm PDT daily during our discussions sessions to update and ask questions to the coordination group.

I would propose a 10 AM start time on Wednesday and then we plan rest of weeks schedule from there. Who can Peg reach out to for logistics?

We look forward to coordinating with you to get the best set of community empowerment bylaws for ICANN.

Given the short time we have for review, the Sidley and Adler teams are not planning on circulating comments prior to the face to face meeting but we do not see any reason why you shouldn't circulate comments in advance if you would like. That said we think it would be good to minimize back and forth email discussions of the issues simple because we may not have the bandwidth during our review to react.

Please also note that by end of day Monday we need a full list of those who will be attending in person for our security desk.

Also please let us know of the preferred start time for Wednesday morning

And if anyone has dietary preferences.

Thanks!

Bruce -

Two process questions regarding the CCWG and CWG drafts we have received -

    1) In this initial review of the drafts that have been distributed, are we to send
feedback to this list, or save our observations for the face-to-face meeting
         in LA?

    2) In performing our review, is the scope strictly set to the changes necessary for
implementation of the CWG proposal and related CCWG items, or should we
note any other items that might warrant cleanup in the bylaws? (Article VI,
Sec 2(5) is an example; one of the drafts rightly observes this Chair election
provision might be more suitable in the officer section, but that obviously isn’t
a strictly necessary change for purposes of implementing the CWG proposal.)

Thanks!
/John

p.s. Look forward to seeing everyone in LA - I will be able to participate on Wednesday
and Thursday only, as I must return to the east coast Friday AM.

Dear Bylaws Coordination Group, Sidley Legal Team and Adler Legal Team,

The ICANN Legal Team submits the follow documents for Bylaws Coordination Group and legal teams to review. We have put forth our best efforts to make changes on top of the current ICANN Bylaws to bring in the CCWG and appropriate ICG proposals. I am sure in the 244 pages and approximately 90,000 words (including the comments and notes) that there are some errors, but we have strived to diligently draft to the intent of the proposals and recommendations.

We have provided a suite of documents below to help access the content including a full set and a redline against the current ICANN Bylaws. We have included Breakouts re each CCWG recommendation, and we have also attempted to set out where we think there is a need for additional discussions both with the lawyers and with the Bylaws Coordination Group.

The documents below do not include the CWG Bylaws that Sidley sent to us today, or our markup of the IRP language that was included from Sidley’s updated version forwarded yesterday (although the Sidley text is included in our rough draft).
