Price increases always demand justification.
Wages and hardware prices indeed increase every year. However, the cost per
byte to operate and maintain a registry server always goes down every year
and the total domain name registered overall also increased. If some
registrars are unable to meet their operational costs with the current
pricing, that means their way of doing business sucks and they need to
change it, not asking to increase the price. If most registrars experience
the problem, it simply means we have too many registrars and need to
implement a quota system to make the business viable.
