I’m a solopreneur seeking to make a livelihood using the internet and the latest technology available at a modest cost. As a result, I’ve been able to compete for business despite my size and limited budget.

I recently learned about the price increase through my domain name provider. This means that .com wholesale domain prices can grow by more than 70% over and above current prices during the next decade and beyond.

In a nutshell, such an increase threatens my ability to stay in business. If I am forced to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars each year to retain my .com domains, I will cease to be profitable. Such a proposed increase in price will eliminate competition from the “little” guys.

People migrated to the United States for the freedom and opportunity to make a living. Please don’t squelch the very values that underlie our capitalist nation.
