Hi -

As the owner of .com and .org domains I'm upset both the recent .org monetization mess is still unresolved and it seems now a watered-down version of that is coming for .com.

The marginal cost of these domains is reducing as machines get more powerful and bandwidth more plentiful, there's no basis for continually increasing the cost of an entry in a database. Although it's beneficial there should be a nonzero cost to cover operations, people renting these domains have no choice but to do so or lose their services like email that rely on them, making price increases a ransom without any advantage for the domain renter. Logically, the price should be dropping, not increasing.

Instead of this, please consider an open tender for verisgn's role to be chosen on end-user price efficiency.
