[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] TLDs should be operated with public interest in mind

I am against giving Verisign free reign over increasing prices for
wholesale .com domains without proper justification and allowing operators
of a TLD such as Verisign to act as registrars (either themselves or
indirectly).

The .com TLD is a core component of today's Internet. It should not be
managed with profit in mind but rather with the interests of Humanity as a
whole in mind.

If the fixed price from 2012 has to be changed, it should probably be
reduced rather than increased. Considering the sheer scale of the .com TLD,
the underlying cost of managing individual domains should be tiny. The
wholesale price of domains sold to registrars should reflect that.
