[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Concerns on .COM price increase

Hi,

I do NOT support the agreement which paves the way for price increase of .COM domains. Basically Verisign will give $20M to ICANN “to support ICANN’s initiative to preserve and enhance the security, stability and resiliency of DNS” and walks away with the ability to hike the price and hold on to it for perpetuity. The agreement clearly has commercial motivations. If ICANN requires funding to support its initiative can it not fund them through some temporary levies and have full ownership of the process.  

.COM is one of the original domain on the Internet, and should be accessible to all people of the planet at a reasonable price.
