Allowing .com domains to have their prices raised so significantly for such
unclear and potentially unethical reasons puts the authority and reputation
of ICANN at great risk.

This amendment would greatly harm public opinion on ICANN, as .com domains
are incredibly wide spread, and millions of people would be forced to pay
more. A large public rejection of this deal will likely not hit until it’s
clearly negatively effecting people all around the world. It’s simply
making it even harder to access resources on the internet.

The internet is not a private bank, it is a public space that should not
cost large amounts of money to participate in. The unclear, and possibly
greed influenced motives behind this amendment, if it is passed, would
shine a very clear light on where ICANN lies as far as integrity is
concerned.
