I don't believe that there is a good reason to be increasing the .com prices, other than corporate greed.

In fact I know there isn't.

Also, these sort of deals work against the spirit of the Internet, which originally was about openness... a time when prices of domains was very much cheaper and technical specifications for everything were open. Now we have secret deals made affecting everyone, done behind closed doors.

How did that happen?
