To whom it may concern,

I am really worried about and oppose the proposed Amendment 3. I am an individual who owns five .com addresses. I use two of them for direct business and the other three are for personal use. I recognize that the .com was intended for commerce. It has not played out that way over the years, however. The proposed amendment may be targeted at those using .com for commerce, but it is going to affect many more than just business owners and corporations.

Please consider all of the affected parties and focus on the intent and goals of ICANN. I recognize ICANN needs funding to function. I worry, however, that the proposed amendment is not in the best interest of the public...and not a very transparent way to seek for additional funding. Given that about 40% of all registered domains are .com, the amendment is a significant proposal. Not one that can be privately negotiated between a for-profit company and ICANN. Please do not let the sparkling and shiny prospects of big increases in funding cloud good decision-making and sound judgement.

Thank you,

Adam R. West
