[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Opposition to Proposed amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement

I just learned that ICAAN has secretly negotiated with Verisign a deal that
would allow them to increase .com registration fees each year for the next
right years. This deal would only benefit Verisign and, of course ICAAN to
the tune of up to fifteen million dollars. Consumers of .com domains, most
of whom are small businesses, including startups and very small operators
from overseas, would bear the brunt of this sweetheart deal for you and
Verisign.

I urge you in the strongest terms possible to reconsider moving forward
with this deal, and provide a legitimate chance for a true public
discussion before deciding the way, if any, forward. You have an obligation
and fiduciary responsibility to hear and consider how these changes will
impact all parties involved.

Sincerely,

John
