[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Objection to .COM price increases

It’s my understanding that according to a new agreement between ICANN and Verisign, Verisign will be allowed to increase the wholesale price to registrars for .COM domains every year for 8 out of the next 10 years.

This means that .COM prices can increase as much as 70% over the current prices over the next decade and will have a significant negative impact on businesses in the US, most of which make little to no profit each year.

I believe there needs to be some price caps in place to protect the integrity of the domain name market and stability of small businesses and hobbiest using .COM domains.

Thank you for considering my comments.

Sincerely,
