[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement

The cost of registering .com domain names needs to remain affordable for
all or the internet loses its ability to meet its purpose to be accessible
by all.

The cost of maintaining the .COM registry does not rise linearly as the
number of registered domains increase. Therefore, increasing the cost of
each individual registration at a time when Verisign is making more money
on registrations than ever does not make sense. This seems like solely a
goal to make investors money, rather than maintain the purpose that ICANN
was created for.

Shame on ICANN if this deal is allowed to go through. I appreciate your
accepting comments, even though I do expect this to be handled exactly as
the FCC handled their comments on net neutrality. You've likely made your
decision already, but if you still have one ounce of what you stood for at
creation, you wouldn't even consider this deal.
