These proposed increases to .com domains will do nothing but put the web further out of reach to common people. The beauty and success of the web is rooted in how accessible and democratic it is for everyone. Regular people need to be able to participate, publish, start businesses and otherwise contribute to the web. Gouging everyday folks flies in the face of everything that the web stands for. Don’t give the web to the rich. Leave it in the hands of people who are also creative, but don’t have the same deep pockets. That would be a huge mistake.
