To whom it may concern,
We understand the need to have price increase due to inflation and reinvestment on infrastructure. However, the issue is that as a non-profit organization (ICANN), it shall not have no transparencies on how the funds it receive from Verisign will be used. A deal behind a closed door is against the free market spirit and certainly carry distrust from the community.
Furthermore, the monopoly deal that ICANN has with Verisign is also against many of the principles for a fair and free trade economy, and the Internet as a whole that affects many businesses. We just wanted 2 things:
* Transparencies on how the funds will be used
* Verisign shall not be just the only entity who controls .com domain.
Thank you,
