This amendment is terrible and it only benefits Verisign. The internet is a haven of cheap innovation and spreading of information. By increasing the price of the most recognized TLD, you are hindering innovation. Other TLDs are not nearly as recognizable and many people refuse to trust going to websites on less recognized TLDs. When I think of who this price increase impacts, I think of students, technology enthuiasts, small businesses, nonprofits, and hobby programmers. This increase will just force those to move away from .com and move to other less recognized and less respected TLDs.
