There is nothing about this agreement that appears to be done in the
interest of the consumer, and it looks like this is entirely motivated by
greed. Verisign gets more money and pays ICANN $20 Million in exchange, yet
there are no clear outlines for how this $20 Million would be spent. It's
pretty clear that Verisign also does not have the consumer in mind, as
allowing them to operate as a registrar themselves is a conflict of
interest. Domain prices affect everyone else's bottom line. Please do not
move forward with this contract as it is currently written. This is a
selfish and greedy move.
