ICANN Amendment Comment -

I have been a registrant of multiple .com domain names over the last 20+ years, and would like to continue to use this TLD for business and personal uses due to its ubiquity and strong public understanding.

I am strongly against the proposed price increase of .com domains. While this is in Verisign's best interest, it would have negative consequences for everyone else. The current rate of $7.85 already provides a generous amount of overhead vs. the minimal fee to process .com registrations.

ICANN is not under direct government control, yet still wields great power equivalent of that which only government run organizations possess. This should provide even more incentive to operate the domain name system in the public interest.

I believe that this proposal goes against the very nature of an open Internet by working exclusively with Verisign. ICANN should also be politically neutral and not roll back an agreement due to the fact that it was created under a different political party's administration.

Thank you for your time,
Tony Rayo - Washington D.C.
