Hello,

I am writing to you today to share my doubts regarding the deal with
Verisign.

 

ICANN is one of the foundation of the Internet and in my idea a neutral
organisation, an association in fact, that has the common good and the
development of the Internet at the heart of its mission.

 

While I understand that you need financing the latest deal with Verisign
pretty much resemble to a $20m bribe from Verisign to get a bigger share of
its control on the Internet and domains. These ginormous organisations
getting close to monopolistic position or at least disproportionate power
compared to other players is destroying competition and innovation. Just
look at internet providers in the US!

 

I think a lot of people are watching you, 

I hope you won’t destroy decades of good work and a reputation for short
term financial incentives.
