[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Opposition for .COM Registration Hike

Good Morning,

I am a registrant and webmaster for several .com domain names and am strongly opposed to the proposed price increase to .com domains. 

In a free country with rules against monopolies it is strange that a deal between two private corporations can impact hundreds of thousands of users and owners without any sort of an alternative.

$7.85 is more than justified considering that Version is merely the manager of the .com registry and apart from that does nothing else to service the domains.

ICANN is supposed to govern the domain system based on the public’s interest and the only interests being considered here are Verisign’s and ICANN.

Please reconsider this proposal.
