I am a registrant of a .com domain name.

I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains.

No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices.

The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Domain names are already the highest dollar-per-bit industry of the internet, far exceeding other types of hosting. The price Verisign charges for each .com is legalized robbery, authorized by ICANN to feed their own salaries and justify their own existence.

Prices for hosting of every other type of Internet infrastructure go DOWN over time, not UP. ICANN uses reverse economics to justify rent-seeking behavior.

ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest.
