Users like myself, a professor at a public university, depend on .com domain sites in order to disseminate our work to audiences. A true democracy depends on an informed electorate, and the results from research funded by American taxpayers are of value to the public good. Public universities struggling to meet the demands of a growing population cannot foot the bill for this effort alone.
