[Comments-org-renewal-18mar19] Proposed Renewal of .org Registry Agreement

Jut for the record, I'm an average guy who owns a .org domain, and I use it to provide mail services for myself and my family. I can afford $10US or $20US a year to maintain it.

HOWEVER, with the proposed removal of price caps, it's very easy to imagine the cost of my domain going to $35US/year or even more. I may be able to afford that, but my wife would never approve the expense. It's very easy to imagine that this proposed change would lead to me losing my domain.

For me, that's maybe not such a big deal - but for others, that could be a HUGE problem. Especially when you start to account for non-profits running on shoestring budgets, this price-cap proposal becomes terrifying.

I would STRONGLY encourage you to pretend that companies like VeriSign are predatory (oh wait! you don't have to pretend! that's actually true!) and that many organizations would be more effective spending their money getting aid to where it's needed rather than paying companies like VeriSign to maintain an online presence (oh, wait! again, you don't have to pretend! that's actually true!).

Please, in all seriousness, think about the children.

Do NOT remove the price cap on .org domains.
