Subject: Pricing changes for domain names

As the President of a nonprofit organization that operates a website for voter education in judicial election races, I object to the proposed amendment removing the cap on pricing for .org domain names.

Nonprofit organizations rely on donations for operating expenses. The ability of small nonprofits to accomplish their missions will be negatively impacted by the increased cost for securing and maintaining .org domain names. In other words, the percentage of donated funds used for administrative expenses will go up. As you know, donors prefer to give to nonprofits that keep administrative costs down, thereby ensuring that a large portion of donated funds actually go towards the stated mission.

My suggestion is that the pricing cap be lifted solely for .com domain names, which are used by for profit organizations. This would allow .org domain names, which are used by nonprofit organizations, to remain subject to pricing caps.

Please accept my sincere thanks for considering this comment in connection with the proposed changes to the renewal agreement.

Best Regards,

Annabelle Imber Tuck
