Hi there,
I wish to object to the proposed changes to .ORG domain names by ICANN.
Affordable domains are essential for a free and open internet. By removing price caps, this would almost certainly result in significant price increases.
There are many examples across the world where the removal of price caps has had this effect, even with “competition”, e.g. the British intercity passenger rail network, energy prices in Australia.
Please retain the cap on charges for .ORG and other domain names. As an owner of several domains for over a decade, these changes concern me.
Thank you for considering my comments.
Regards,
Philip Mallis
