To whom it may concern,

As I am sure you know, most non-profit organizations operate on an extremely tight budget, often forced to prioritize functional expenses like keeping the lights on, or the website up, over investment in program. Frankly, this can be an incredibly challenging and stressful position to be in.

Increased cost for things like domain registration may seem like an insignificant sum of money from the outside, but it is within these razor fine financial edges that most non-profits operate. Every dollar saved on operational costs is a dollar that can go directly toward impacting the respective communities served by individual non-profit organizations.  Allowing the rates for domain registration to increase unchecked would not only have huge financial impact on many non-profit organizations, it could also have enormous ramifications for the populations served by those organizations. In the end, the social cost and detrimental impact on programming cannot even be calculated. 

Please don’t place further burden on the thousands upon thousands of hard-working, magnanimous, compassionate organizations (not to mention the incredibly dedicated and often overwhelmed individual staff) serving millions of people and countless worthy causes by allowing an unchecked increase in operational costs. The communities all work and live in may not be able to afford it.
