While a believer in the free-market, these sudden and unnecessary price rule changes make no sense. You, the ICANN, have already goofed up everything with your 800+ new TLD's. A radical price change will gouge the .org committed, and splinter the uncommitted all over the new TLD landscape. The general public will pay the price as mass confusion ensues.
