[Comments-org-renewal-18mar19] Please do not remove the price cap on .org domains

I am the president of a small nonprofit with a .org domain. I am
writing to object to the proposed .org renewal that would allow Public
Interest Registry to charge arbitrary prices for .org domains.
Monopolies must be regulated in order to avoid abuse. If one
organization has the sole right to register .org domains, the prices
must be regulated to prevent the organization from charging wherever it
wishes. The situation is not analogous to new top-level domains that
were created by commercial entities that may compete with each other.
The .org domain is a long-standing top-level domain used by nonprofits
and there is not somewhere else to turn if prices become unreasonable.

Sincerely,

                                        Ken Olum
