I’ll keep this simple.

Low domain registration fees are a foundational component of an open web. Considering .org domain names are often purchased by nonprofits and not-for-profit companies, removing the cap seems especially egregious. There is a market for reselling more valuable domains already.

Just as Net Neutrality promotes the idea that all data should be treated fairly, we should continue to extend the concept to the domain level, ensuring everyone has a fair and equal chance obtain their plot of “land” on the web. Keeping these fees capped helps ensure everyone can have a web presence.
