Dear ICANN,

I am a domain name registrant.

The .org family of domains represents an important cornerstone of the internet for non-profit, humanitarian, and community support organizations around the world.

By removing the price cap on these domains, ICANN is effectively cordoning off these organizations, often in locations where there are significant financial obstacles even to maintaining a simple web presence.

Especially for the .org domain, the price cap should stay in place to ensure the humane vision for the web remains in place for these important worldwide organizations. There is already a 10% annual increase on domain name prices in place, so removing a price cap seems to be simply pushing for a wild west commercialization of these domains.

I strongly urge ICANN to go back on the proposal to remove this price cap and keep alive the unifying humanitarian vision of the .org domain.

Sincerely,

Gonçalo Lopes / Director
