Denise,

Thanks for sorting out WHEN the sessions related to the StratPlan input are
scheduled during this exceptionally busy session of ICANN. I fear that there
are real challenges, undoubtedly not only for my constituency's members, but
for many others.

But it is very valuable to know when the sessions are, and I am doing my
best to reach BC members who are there to share your email.

There are serious time conflicts. I note that there is a public forum for
the GNSO Council on Tuesday p.m. that we had previously asked all our BC
constituency members to attend and participate in. On Wednesday, there is a
very important session on DNS Security, followed by the GNSO Council meeting
for two hours. Again, we have asked our members to attend the workshops and
the Public forum and the GNSO Council meeting.

I have individually copied the BC attendees in Marrakech whose emails I have
with me on my blackberry, since it is possible that some BC members who are
physically in Marrakech may be willing to give up participation in the
events focused on the BC and the GNSO's concerns, and be able to join one of
these sessions. Thus, I've forwarded your announcement to the BC list, and
have also individually posted to all BC members in attendance. I fear we
can't make many assurances of that at this point.

The BC believes that the Strat Plan deserves consideration and discussion
and an input mechanism that has some validity and advance publication of
information and even perhaps "things to consider" documents. Further, I'll
see Mr. Sherry when I return Wed. a.m. regarding what options might be
developed.

Thanks much for providing the information below.

Regards,

Marilyn Cade

Subject: [council] Consultation process for the 2007-2009 strategic plan

At the Marrakech meeting, ICANN is beginning the consultation process for

the 2007 - 2009 strategic plan. As part of its commitment to the

internationalisation of its processes, ICANN will be running sessions to

seek input to the planning process in French, Arabic, Spanish and English.

These sessions will be hosted by the ICANN Regional Liaison from the

relevant region and so will present an opportunity not only to provide input

to the overall organisational planning process but also to raise issues of

specific regional interest with ICANN's representative in your region. ICANN

is very keen to receive input and we encourage your participation in these

sessions. The sessions will be held in Reda 2. Times for the Sessions are

now scheduled as follows (if you cannot make one of these sessions, please

leave information on how to contact you and a time when you are available

with the Help Desk staff and Patrick Sharry will contact you).

The input from these sessions will be used to formulate a key priorities

document and draft Strategic Plan that will be presented in Marrakech.

Please plan to attend one of these sessions. If you are unable to attend,

there will be on-line opportunities to contribute to the formulation of the

draft plan. The sessions will be held in Reda 2. Times for the Sessions are

now scheduled as follows (if you cannot make one of these sessions, please

leave information on how to contact you and a time when you are available

with the Help Desk staff and Patrick Sharry will contact you):
