Hi,

Yes, it was generous of the ccNSO and GAC chairs to allow us lurk and  
I very much appreciate this concession on their part.

To me personally, it does not change the need to appeal the balance  
in the group as soon as possible.  If the basis of that appeal is the  
parity/equality issue of the SO in deciding on the re-allocation of  
responsibility for the names in TLD space, then that issue still  
needs to be discussed.

I personally think that the need to send the appeal to the board is a  
separate issue from getting the entire position of the GSNO vis a vis  
i-ccTLDs documented in the Issues paper.  I think the schedule for  
the Issues paper rework is aggressive but good.  I think that the  
letter needs to be ready within a week or less.  And assuming the  
letter requires a vote of the council, which does strengthen such a  
letter, I think that vote needs to occur at our next meeting.

I will have a first draft of that letter for the drafting team to  
review shortly.
