Dear all,

Further to previous emails and updates about ICANN¹s work on the IDN Variant
Program, ICANN staff would once again like to request your help. As you
know, there is a pressing and urgent need to develop Label Generation
Rulesets (LGRs) for each of the 22 scripts identified from among the
IDN-based New gTLD applications since IDN variants cannot be implemented
in the root until this is finalized. The attached is a summary, in plain
English, of the task that also describes the work of the LGR Panels.

We will be very grateful if you can assist by volunteering and by
distributing the attached request broadly amongst your community. Please let
me or the IDN Variant Program staff (cc¹d on this email) know if you or they
have any questions about the Panels or the Program. As usual, an update on
the Program will also be provided to the GNSO by Program staff at the Los
Angeles meeting.

Thanks and cheers
Mary
