Dear Terri - thank you very much for posting this message to the Council
list.

Dear Council colleagues,

Donna Austin and I had the honour of serving as GNSO representatives on the
selection committee as part of our roles as Council Vice Chair in 2016 and
2015. This is a valuable initiative to recognise the outstanding
contribution of community members to the work that we do. From my personal
experience on the selection committee, I would offer the following key
advice to those submitting a nomination: please speak DIRECTLY and
EXPLICITLY and with RELEVANT SPECIFIC EXAMPLES to EACH of the criteria. The
clearer your submission is, the more easily understood it will be by the
selection committee. All rather obvious stuff, I realise, but based on the
one-liner answers we've seen in past years, it seems prudent to point out.
