Hello all,

To follow up on James’ email (below), please note that the issue of community approval of the proposed Fundamental Bylaw Amendment what will be covered by the first Community Forum, scheduled for ICANN59 in Johannesburg.

Please note also that, while the Community Forum will be managed and run by the Empowered Community Administration, the actual approval itself has to come from the Empowered Community (i.e. each Decisional Participant will have to decide if, following the Community Forum, it supports the amendment). Under the Bylaws, Decisional Participants can also send written comments on the proposed amendment, either prior to or during the Community Forum.

Staff will be working with the leadership teams of all Decisional Participants to make sure that information on deadlines and opportunities for comment is provided in a timely manner before the Johannesburg meeting.
