Dear Councilors,

On behalf of Phil Corwin and Petter Rindforth, the co-chairs of the IGO-INGO Access to Curative Rights Policy Development Process (PDP) Working Group, I am pleased to invite you to a webinar that is being planned for this Thursday, 12 October, at 1600 UTC. The Working Group is planning to present its proposed final recommendations to the community at ICANN60, and will complete its Final Report for the GNSO Council’s review and vote following that meeting.

Although the webinar is being conducted primarily for the benefit of Working Group members who have not been able to participate in recent discussions, the co-chairs hope that it will also be useful for the Council as the manager of the PDP. This PDP was initiated in 2014, on a topic with legal implications and complexities that call for an understanding of the interplay between the recommendations currently under Working Group consideration and other work within the GNSO as well as concerns that have been expressed by the GAC.

By conducting this webinar, the co-chairs therefore hope that the limited face-to-face time that the group will have with the GNSO Council at ICANN60 can be optimized to focus on specific challenges to be addressed as the Working Group moves toward a Final Report.

Staff will follow up on this note by sending a calendar invitation to you. If you are not able to attend the Thursday webinar, please note that the session will be recorded and transcribed, and we will post and circulate the recording and transcript following the webinar.

Thanks and cheers
Mary
