On behalf of Paul Diaz from the RySG, I am forwarding his note below about Stephane Van Gelder. Stephane was a very active and dedicated member of the ICANN community having served as Chair of the GNSO Council, and Chair of the Nominating Committee. He was currently serving as Vice Chair, Policy of the RySG. Stephane will be missed by many.

Dear colleagues,

It’s with great sadness that I must report the passing of Stephane Van Gelder. He was involved in a motorcycle crash on Friday, went into a coma and died last night. I will share details re memorial services, and will coordinate with our Registrar colleagues for some sort of rememberance ceremony at the GDD Summit.
