Thank you for this update, Terri.

I do not consider this a great resolution. For one, it will be burdensome for ICANN staff to have to retrieve these recordings manually. In addition, for community members, we are now dependent upon ICANN org being prepared to release recordings. I note that there are recordings from the Abu Dhabi meeting that disappeared and which have not been made available despite repeated community requests.

It appears to me that ICANN has transitioned to Zoom without considering the implications of records being lost in the process. This is deeply disappointing.

It is even more disappointing given the news in the past few days about the structural vulnerabilities found within Zoom. We switched to this tool under the guise of enhancing information security, but as security researchers have noted, Zoom has been unresponsive to their findings that it is rather effortlessly possible to remotely activate webcams. This was a flaw never found within Adobe Connect, which in my opinion met our needs better.

None of this is the fault of the policy team, but it does reflect very poorly in my view on whatever team within ICANN made this move to a new platform without considering the impact on the community. It was beyond disrespectful to do so without consulting us.

It is my deeply held - albeit unpopular - view that ICANN org does not respect the community it is supposed to serve, and this transition to an inferior tool has only served to cement that image in my mind.
