[council] Following up: IANA Functions Review Team (IFRT) timeline

Dear Councilors,

I am writing to follow up on the question that was raised in the context of your upcoming meeting with the ccNSO Council, about whether there is a deadline for finalizing the composition of the IANA Functions Review Team (IFRT). Under Section 18 of the ICANN Bylaws, the first Periodic IFR was estimated to have a commencement date of October 2018: https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/governance/bylaws-en/#article18. It will therefore be very useful to be able to finalize any remaining questions over the IFRT as soon as possible, in order to proceed with the first review.

Specific provisions concerning the composition and appointment of the IFRT can be reviewed in Section 18.7 at the above-noted link.
