Seeing as the meeting is in my region, I can ask friends and find somewhere for me to stay. If the barrier to ICANN is the added hotel cost, I can solve that.

If their issue is that they have a hard cap on participant number, then... well, why? Is there a document of some prt that says one thing or another? We should find out.

Thank you, Emily and Mark.

Unfortunately, the NCSG and NCUC have other candidates. The 2020 program was canceled and people who missed the opportunity are prioritized for the slots.

I hope we can make the case that the pandemic has robbed the experience from the 2020 batch and it's only fair we are able to nominate at least 1 more on top of our allocated slots. People who stayed despite the pandemic deserve the chance. On the other hand, people who joined during the pandemic deserve the chance as well.

As Mark said, let's keep discussing and finding solutions!

Anne raises a good point.

Volunteers and moving to leadership positions are the lifeblood of this community.

I support Mark, but I think it is important that Manju also gets a slot.
And perhaps this is my personal observation, but the pandemic wreaked havoc on our community.
As such we need more effort to invest in it.

Getting people into leadership positions is a no-brainer for me.

In addition, the BC, IPC, ISPCP, NCSG, NCUC, NPOC, RrSG, and RySG will each be invited to nominate one individual. If you are interested in the Council slot, please respond on list so that Council leadership can determine next steps for identifying our participant.

Please note that remote participation for this program is not available, so participants must be able to attend in-person.
