through the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority functions are unique and consistent, in line with global policies.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN">I wish to emphasize that </span><span lang="EN-US">ICANN’s role with country-code top-level domains (ccTLDs) is limited and predominantly involves validating requests that come from within the respective country or territory.
ICANN </span><span lang="EN">cannot take unilateral action against a country to limit or restrict Internet access and we do not play a role in the day-to-day management of ccTLDs, which is a local responsibility.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
